Do you know The Difference between Traffic and Visitors? Someone would say it’s just the same! Like most of the people do you worry about the traffic to your website all the time or value more about that visitors who return back to your website after that initial visit? But if you want to be a Pro Blogger and be happy with with your results you have to know the basics. First let’s look at what is web Traffic:
Wikipedia says “Web traffic is the amount of data sent and received by visitors to a web site. This is determined by the number of visitors and the number of pages they visit. Sites monitor the incoming and outgoing traffic to see which parts or pages of their site are popular and if there are any apparent trends, such as one specific page being viewed mostly by people in a particular country.”
Today I read an amazing little book called Make Your Idea Matter by Bernadette Jiwa. Just 123 ages of inspiring information for anyone who wants to have a quick read and learn some of the best ideas that would matter for your business and life. Highly advice you to get the Kindle edition today and have read. **You do not need a Kindle fire to download those Kindle editions of the books if you have smartphone or a PC!
In the book he asks “When you optimise your website for “traffic” are you doing your best work?”
The question made me want to share the ideas on this post.
Most of us are busy working hard on how to get “traffic”, and I understand traffic matter but you are missing the point if you just do a Pay Per Click campaign and get the numbers up but not giving your visitors what they want to stick on your website.
If you want just traffic it is a tactic, that anyone with better SEO technical skills than you can win at. Like Bernadette points out, giving “visitors” a reason to stay, means having a strategy for creating great content that can’t be easily duplicated.
On the search engines the “Traffic” is passing through every millisecond. So it’s vital to think in terms of how you can turn a visitor into someone who cares to return. For example blogs such as Seth Godin’s, Neil Patel and I will teach you to be rich by Ramit Sethi attracts visitors and make them fall in love with their blogs giving a compelling reason to stay.
One of the others blogs I recently started to return to read is the personal blog of Oluwaseun. At Sbabzy.com, he write about great content and which are very attractive and make you want to return again to see what he has new.
Finally you have to also keep split testing what you visitors want. By analyzing your bounce rate to the site you can understand does your visitors stick or do they leave without reading any articles at your blog? Because tiny distinctions make all the difference.
