I’ve been hearing form a lot of people when I bring up the conversation on starting a business, “How can I do that? Do I have the experience and the capital to launch a start-up?” I really didn’t have an answer even though I knew there should be a way to do so, with a less amount of capital on hand. And I’m telling you it’s possible. Read on….
The next most heard question people ask is, “Where can I get the skills I need?” My answer is read more books and builds your knowledge today. To tell you the truth, I’ve been asking the wrong question for years. I realized the real answer is Just do it and it’s all possible to be done under $100 after reading Chris Guillebeau’s book “The $100 Start Up”.
Chris shows in his book how to lead a life of adventure, meaning and purpose and earn a good living. He actually describes how he has been able to support his entrepreneurial career from the early days of his life as Hustler. Also I would recommend all our readers to Chris’s invaluable and free manifesto, 279 Days to Overnight Success.
As of I know and hear daily, most of the people are doing boring jobs but still haven’t thought about anything you can start of yourself. Now look, I don’t advice you to quit the job and go broke, that’s not the case just starting whatever idea you have. Put it out and test if the market is going to buy it. I have been selling different products doing a lot of marketing for other people and still work on a 9-5 job which pays me decent salary to keep me at a healthy financial level.
Looking at Tim Ferriss’s career, he has been having a high profile career, but what made him get out there and write several bestsellers is that he got burned out from his high stress career and he was bored to death, in fact he left his job and went to Argentina and learned Tango, where he held a world record in Tango.
Tim loved what he did and found what he really wanted to do with his life at early stage. If you guys haven’t read the Book “4 Hour Work week” I would highly advice you to go check it out as soon as possible. Most of the case studies it mentions show you how to build a career around your passions and live millionaire’s lifestyle even if you still haven’t made a million. The book is one of my all-time favorites and I have recommended it to all of my colleagues and team at Futurist Business.
Most of the clients we help and work with have been using those ideas on the book and it shows you how to start your own business and work from anywhere in the world running a “Location Independent Business”.
Another great Entrepreneur I recently found out is Gagan Biyani who is the creator of Udemy, an online platform which is a marketplace to revolutionize online education for the future generations. He first convinced TechCrunch to let him write about tech. And then he applied the knowledge he have been building up to a start-up this company with his co-founders.
When I read about his life, I saw that Gagan prepared himself for success by diving in headfirst and taking every available opportunity to learn, read and even write about his own future. **This gives all who haven’t thought of building an online authority to start you website/Blog today and start writing and share your knowledge and get active in your self-education.
If you do not have your own platform or still reluctant to have your own, you can guest post on this blog and start building your online authority. I started this blog to share my own knowledge while learning form the best and educate the society from my experimentations.
Going into more detail, Gagan Biyani has successfully led investor relations, finance, business development, public relations, operations and all parts of the operations management done successfully to build up this great business. The most interesting lesson I got from his business is how he have raised the company’s $4 million in venture capital and hired 10 of Udemy’s 20 employees. During the platform’s first 18 months he managed the team to create over 2 million in sales.
My research showed that this has opened him more opportunities and he’s currently hard at work on new projects, including the Growth Hackers Conference.
