Wouldn’t it be great if you can rank websites on SERP without any links pointing at your website?
I mean you can, but it takes some serious content creation efforts like I do. But realistically you need links to rank and Google look for those links pointing at website when they pick the most accurate result for your query.
Yesterday Matt Cutt (19.02.2014) confirms that Google had already tested Google search results that totally excludes any backlink relevance. This seems like Google is trying to move towards web without spam links that people can buy if they have money.
I like the idea as it will help content marketers like us to dominate the SERP without much worry of a competitor going and buying high PR links from link farm or get backlinks from authority sites due their relationships with the web masters.
With that being said, let see what Matt Cutt says about the version of Google that excludes backlinks as a ranking factor.
