From this month I will be blogging what’s happening at my SEO Agency in London and what’s really going on with our local SEO and ranking client sites. I’ve never much blogged about our client sites or shared any case studies other than Quick Wasters 30 day ranking article I did several months back. Btw their site is nicely ranked now and search engines have identified the site as the most reliable waste collection company in London. We also launched their new mobile responsive website today that’s catering the “House Clearance in London” keywords. the site is done on the same domain as a directory site, so let’s see how it rolls on the web. You can see the new site here: www.quickwasters.co.uk/houseclear/
In this article I wanted bring forward one of my client sites that I took on board last month> Citywide Cleaning that did not budge as usual in the first 30 day period and what I think would have been the cause. First of all let me share the 3 main keywords that the client wanted to achieve the rankings.
- Office Cleaning London
- Cleaning company London
- Commercial cleaning London
The above terms are the most competitive in the commercial cleaning service niche in London and they all have around 1000 to 1k+ exact searches. So having the site on the top 3 is very profitable and a guaranteed way to run a five figures a month local business in the city.
So what could have caused the delay in rankings for client’s site?
The site had to get a bad backlink removal done and it was done by the client before I took the site on board. I wished it wasn’t done, however that made the site go way back on the search engines and get stuck even though have started a very safe On-Page and Off-Page SEO strategy.
I have noticed that normally when a site has undergone a Google disavow it makes a negative movement in most cases. For example this URL: www.fernandobiz.com dropped it’s traffic from 800 -1000+ a day to just 100 – 200 a day as it dropped it’s ranking for most of the keywords. However now the site is slowly picking up and gradually the traffic is increasing.
Normally the Google disavow should be the last thing to be done if a site has a bad backlink profile. Even though the disavow was done this is how the most up to date backlink profile looks for the above client’s site.
Why is the above bad?
Because most of those backlinks are coming form very low authority sites and the anchor text ratios are pretty high. I see 11% way high, especially when most of those backlinks are from low trust flow sites. Also you can see the term “Office Cleaning London” has 7% backlinks for that term.
Now let’s look at one of my client’s sites that is topping for every single term in their niche for keyword + London terms. Sorry my Majestic is having issues and does not load..lol. **Their site only have less that 1-2% rations for every single target keyword. Now there are exceptions, authority sites get, especially if theirs sites have gained authority early on with high PR backlink, their sites are pretty immune for any low quality backlinks. This is why negative SEO does not work on sites that have already gained the authority on the web.
So what’s the solutions for achieve movement for the above website?
Neutralize the backlinks profile further by getting a lot of social shares and content marketing with web 2.0 sites for the brand. Currently we have built over 25 resourceful web 2.0’s for the brand those are all having unique content and acts as supporting sites for the Citywide Cleaning brand on the web. Now some might say this is even not right according to Google guidelines, but I believe this is very legitimate way to market a brand online and gain more attention from poeple + the search engines. Drop your comments below about what you think about building web 2.0’s for brand.
Also we will be doing a couple of PR articles to get the brand name populate on the web and most of them would be brand mentions like this> Citywide Cleaning with bold content. It’s proven that brand mentions on authority site helps SEO. To know what else I will be doing, keep an eye on the Citywide Cleaning website.
In 3-4 weeks time I will update with another case study article about the situation of the Citywide cleaning site and you can see the site here on their company website: www.citywidecleaning.co.uk if you would like to see how I have done On-Page SEO and perfect site loading speed.
Also any recommendations and ideas on what you think may help get this site on SERP’s would be great to hear on the comments below.
